Update #13
Today marks the most American of holidays.
No, I don’t mean the Fourth of July.
More than 150 nations around the globe celebrate their Independence Day in some shape or form. There’s nothing about July 4th that makes it uniquely American.
However, Thanksgiving is the quintessential American celebration. It embodies the core values of our forefathers—gratitude, unity, and resilience. Rooted in the (almost certainly apocryphal) history of the Pilgrims and Native Americans coming together to give thanks for a bountiful harvest, it represents the spirit of overcoming adversity and finding common ground, no matter the challenges faced.
How desperately we need to focus on these things today.
Unlike other holidays that focus on personal milestones or religious celebrations, Thanksgiving brings people together across all backgrounds and beliefs to reflect on the blessings of the past year, while reaffirming the strength of community. It’s a time for Americans to pause, appreciate what they have, and reaffirm their collective commitment to family, friendship, and the shared ideals that define this great nation.
I’m grateful for you, my readers.
As we gather with loved ones and pause to appreciate what we’ve been granted, I want to take this moment to express my deepest gratitude for all of you—my readers, my fellow patriots, and all those who continue to fight for the truth to be heard, no matter how hard it gets. You are the ones who keep the spirit of freedom and justice alive, even in these times when it feels like our ideals are under siege.
I’m thankful for your resilience, your willingness to stand up for what’s right, and your unwavering commitment to ensuring that the truth prevails.
In the end, I know we will win.
On a personal note, The Tin Foil Times has received over 11,000 views and 110+ subscribers in the past 20 days. I’m sincerely honored by all the positive feedback I’ve received. Thank you for your support.
I’m thankful for the things that make America great.
As we sit around our tables today, we also have much to be thankful for as Americans. We are a people forged through hardship and determination—resilient, brave, scrappy, and independent.
Throughout our nation’s history, we’ve had our share of immense challenges to face. We’ve always managed to rise above them.
The American Revolution was fought by farmers and idealists against the greatest military might the world had ever seen to that point. And they won.
The Civil War pit brother against brother as the entire bedrock of our way of life was shaken. Dreadful new development in the technology of warfare transformed the scale and brutality of combat, claiming 700,000 American lives. And yet we came back together.
In fact, the day of Thanksgiving is rooted in this bitter moment of division. It was during the war, on Oct. 3, 1863, when President Abraham Lincoln issued a Thanksgiving proclamation to help unite a war-weary nation. It established the precedent of a national Thanksgiving holiday held on a Thursday in November, a tradition we continue to hold today.
Since then, we warred to uphold our democratic values in World War I. We fought against the menace of fascism in World War II. And now that it approaches our shores, Americans will stand resolved against it.
Our history proves that even in the darkest moments, we Americans have the capacity to come together and fight for what’s just and fair. When we do, we’re a force to be reckoned with. No matter what the future holds, these core qualities will remain ours.
Right now, there’s no question that we face serious challenges to our democracy. The prospects of Donald Trump returning to office, and antagonistic powers continuing to exert influence over our political landscape, are chilling. But let me be clear: We, the People, are not helpless in this fight. We have many allies—both domestic and foreign—and our voices will continue to grow in strength.
Even if our demands for recounts and audits go unheeded and Trump is to seize power again, we collectively will not allow our nation to fall into permanent darkness.
We do not, and will not, simply roll over in the face of oppression.
This isn’t Russia; our countrymen feel deeply that we are entitled to liberty and freedom. Our history is one of resistance. Our future will be, too.
While we may be in a moment where many Americans are being misled, I believe the truth has a way of revealing itself. The time will come when the gap between peoples’ actual experiences and what they are told is happening becomes undeniable. Those who’ve been manipulated or misinformed will, eventually, see the reality of what’s happening. And when that time comes, the tide will turn. People will rise up and finally understand that they were deceived.
It’s up to us to hold the line, to be loud, and to call out the evil we see when it rears its head. The more we speak truth to power, the faster this moment will arrive.
Don’t forget that Trump would not need to cheat, had Americans truly been ready and willing to support his fascism. MAGA and the Republican Party have represented minority rule for decades. They do not represent the will of the American people.
They have forgotten. We will remind them of that.
As we head into this uncertain year ahead, I know that some of you may feel weary, and some of you may feel like the forces of division and hatred are too strong to overcome. But remember, every time we speak out, each time we stand firm in our principles, we weaken the grip of those who would see our country torn apart.
We are the ones who will stand between the forces of tyranny and the values that make America great. Together, we are the resistance.
I want to assure you today that I am resolved to see this fight through. I will not stop standing up for the ultimate American values that have guided our nation for centuries. Freedom, liberty, and equality are not just words—they are the bedrock of who we are as a people. And no matter how many obstacles are placed in our path, no matter how loud the voices of hate and division may become, I know that overall, we Americans will not falter in our commitment to those ideals.
For that, we can give thanks.
So, on this day, let’s remember what about our country is worth fighting for. Take solace that, no matter how dark the night may seem, the light of truth will always find its way through. We are Americans—we are strong, we are determined, and we will fight for the soul of this nation. Thank you for being part of this fight, and for continuing to push for a better future for all.
From me and my family to yours, I wish you a day of warmth, belonging, abundance, and laughter.
Happy Thanksgiving!
More soon.
If we don’t take action to defend democracy, we don’t deserve to keep it.
